This is Runar rapporting from Mexico
Sorry for the late update, internet her isn't exactly the best, maybe it's because we take ours from the neighbours:)
So I have been in Mexico for almost 10 days now and life is good i must say.
The people are friendly. My familie are great I have been leaving with them for a week now I am very happy i ended up here.
During the last 10 days I have travled to the otherside of the world, where I am now. Over 24 hours from my old home to my new one.
During this last week I have been living in one of the worlds biggest and most dangerous citys.
I have seen somethings, not to mention tasted a lot of diffrent things and I mean a lot of difrent things. I have learnt that tacos isn't tacos, tortillas isn't tortillas and what we call Mexican food in Norway isn't mexican food, it is Tex-Mex and Tex-Mex is from Texas and the northen parts of Mexico.
This is how they protect there property where i live now, don't want to jump that wallI went to a bookstore with my new father the other day and there they had valeys to park your car, to me that is a little strange, but maybe that is just me.
Well what else have i seen. Yhea the traffic, it is crazy so many cars in such a small area. In D.F. (Districto Federal) with an area of 1,479 km² alone there lives 8 million people.
For a norwgian little boy from the country side that's a lot.
This is my new home for the next 10 monthsToday was a interesting day, first we went to church, for me who can almost count the times I have been to a church on my hands.
This was all new to me, the curch in Norway is luthern.
Here in Mexico they are chatolic, that means you get to eat the boy of crist, if you now what I am talking about.
If not you havn't seen a deasant american movie where the go to church.
It means you get in a line, and go to the padre(preast) and he pust something in your mouth, whitch is sopouse to represent the body of crist, I have now idea what is was and i don't what to know eigther.
I remember standing in church, we had to stand because there where now seats open.
I was looking around at the people in the chruch and I was thinking this is religion?
Let us leave it at that.
The other thing we did today was to go to Wall-Mart. You know those big stors where they have everything, and it is cheap, but it is so big that it takes forever to find what you are looking for.
Yhea that one.
Let's just say I like the small shop's, atleast small compeard to this one, they said it was a small Wall-Mart, to me it didn't look small at all.
At this wall-mart do you have any idea how much they where charging for a bottle of Bacardi?
I'll tell you it is crazy.
66 pesos, that is about 40 norwegian krones, 38,7 to be exact or 6,25 US dollars.
That is crazy her in Norway we have to pay atleast 400 pesos for a bottle of that.
I will come with more the next time, but now it is food
Until next time this is Runar repporting from Mexico
