Hola Cabrònes

So I've just come back from the bank after taking out some money for an AFS-trip.
It's called Ruta Maya I talked to my friend Andrea back in Norway, she was here last semester.
She was in Oaxaca, that's far from here, but she went on Ruta Maya, when she was her and told I had to go.

So I'm going.

The ting is it's a little expenisive 8200MXN (pesos), so I had to call(e-mail) in another favor from my folks back home.
I don't have that kind of cash laying around, I do now:D, but i didn't then.
I was supose to pay it last year, but hey this is Mexico so we are on Mexican time.
That mean's I'll give it to Professor Samuel tomorrow. Professor Samuel is my local AFS-guy and also my principal.
Comes in handy once in a while.

The ting is have you ever taken out that much money in a minibank.
8200MXN (pesos) is about 5000NOK, 750USD or 575EUR.
I havn't before, I do most my banking online.
So me and my little brother here Fernando, went to the bank.
About a 10 minutt walk from the house, I didn't feel like walking so we took the bicycles.
When we came to the bank and as usual the first ting we se is a guard with a MAC-10 henging from his shoulder.
For those of you who havn't seen as many action movies as me and don't know what a MAC-10 is. It's a highly compact, blowback operated, selective fire submachine gun (technically, a machine pistol) developed by Gordon B. Ingram in 1964.
MAC-10 stands for (Military Armament Corporation Model 10)
How do I know these things?, let me just say one word: Wikipedia
Or maybe it's was a UZI, I don't know, I make it a point to not stare a people with big guns in there hands.

I then proceded into to the minibank room, yeah here in Mexico they have own rooms for the minibanks, some places you even have to use your card just to get into the room.
I wonder why;)
First I tryed to take out 8300 in just one of the minibanks the reason I wanted 8300 and not just 8200, which is what I need for Ruta Maya is because I needed money to buy IceCream for me and my little brother. It dosen't cost a 100pesos, but by taking out a hundred more I have money for the cafeteria tomorrow and pay what I owe for today.
IT didn't work, it said something about only beeing able to give me 6000, but it also said something about 50pesos bills.(it was all in spanish)
So I aborted and trayed the other minibank in the room, with out thinking that the limit was 6000MXN.
Not surprising it didn't work there eigther.
So I went back to the first one and took out 5000MXN.
I was expecting there to come out 5 tousand pesos bills, but no I got big pile of bills.
I quickly put the money in my jacket pocket.
It's not that I don't like big piles of money, I do, so there wern't really a problem;)
I then realised it was a line behind me and they didn't seem to understand that there were to banks in the room.
Maybe t had something to do with the fact that I seemed to be using them both.
So I got out and waited for the line to disappear.
While trying not to take the money out of my jacket pocket.
I really wantes to count them, or just feel them. Yeah I'm crazy!
When the line was gone, I went back in and took aout the rest 3300pesos.
I also put that in my pocket, since I also had my camera there it was getting crowded.
I took the camera carefully out, trying not to drop all the money on the ground.
I didn't want to find out what could happen with over eight tousand pesos on the ground around me.
Let me just say this: Mexico City is famous for to things, Crime and Pollution.
So I wasn't to keen on flashing of all that cash.
Not that I had much of fear of criminals, I live in the north of the city, outside of D.F. (Districo Federal) The capital of Mexico, it takes about 5 minuts by car to get there.

It's more the police I was worried about, they don't make that much money doing there job so they need a extra income and I didn't want to be that income.
But is you have money the police here isn't a problem.

My friend Ilyas, was stopped by the police outside a bar once and after 4 liter bottles of beer he was a little drunk and this was a few months back so his spanish wasn't as good as it is now.
He didn't have a bottle on him so he wasn't drinking in public, the don't like that here.
The same with cars, you can drink before you drive your car, but if one of your passengers drinks in your car, then it's a problem.
Bienvenido Mexico.
Luckly one of his Mexican friends was with him, he just gave the police 20peso and everything was okey

So with 8300 pesos in my pocket I jump on the bike, said Vamonos to my brother and set of to OXXO, to bay soem IceCream.
But first I stoped of and got 50peso out of my pocket, didn't tink. It would be that smart showing of that much cash in OXXO eigther.
When we got to OXXO, my brother had to wait outside with the bikes, so they wouldn't get stolen, in the minut I was in there.

When I got home and pulled out the money from my pocket and I realised it was all to hundres except for to fifties, one I spendt at OXXO.
That ment I had 41 200pesos bills.
It made a nice pile, okey I took few pictures.

That's it for now, been sitting here for a while now.
My ass is starting to hurt, time to do something else.

Hope you enjoyed this.

Hasta luego
